As farmers we understand that if we don’t look after the land and our environment it won’t look after us. In doing this we have to find a balance around environmental policy that allows us carry out our primary role which is to produce quality food at an affordable price in a sustainable way.
Our Great British Farmers are largely responsible for the beautiful countryside we enjoy in Great Britain and will continue to strive to balance feeding our population whilst protecting and enhancing our countryside and wildlife.
Our farms produce waste and use products that historically are seen as harmful to the environment and wildlife. Advances in technology allows our waste and by-products to be recycled cost effectively to be reused on the farm which in turn reduces costs and increases performance.
TFU main focus is on making sure our farmers are reimbursed for the work that they do in maintaining the countryside and wildlife while tackling three major areas
water courses and supply
Recycling and renewables
It is time to have a workable environmental policy that enhances food production and rewards our Great British farmers for the vital work they do in providing the rest of society with not only food but also for maintaining our unique landscape to be enjoyed by all.
